Dear Family and Friends,
This week was a struggle to say the least. As a missionary we try not to focus on numbers but they are there to help us know where we need to improve. Well, we only had two lessons this week...very, very low. I was very frustrated this week...very frustrated. This week we spent all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the church building for a Christmas activity. The whole purpose of the activity was to have members bring their friends to come look at nativities from all over the world and then meet the missionaries who were also giving church tours. But...that didn't happen. We had a grand total of 12 families there! And there were only three investigators. But there is a positive side to this downer of a story. I was blessed with two amazing opportunities to give church tours. They were both to members of the english Ward, but I was blessed to give both of them in Spanish! It was such an amazing time to testify to others about Jesus Christ and hear what they had to say about three Book of Mormon and our savior as well. The spirit that was there was so strong and I know that my testimony grew so much from that. It didn't turn out how we wanted, but I think it turned out how Heavenly Father wanted.
I don't have very many missionary opportunities to talk about this week but I have learned a ton and I am excited to share that with you all! So this week I hit the Book of Mormon hard! I plowed through 3 Nephi and ended the Book of Mormon today. Whoo! Now I can start the second challenge of our mission president. I think my favorite thing I learned was in the book of ether. I loved it so much! I related it to a mission experience. The jaradites were on their way to the promised land and they went through so many trials! But the lord had prepared tools for them to make it. That is like mission life, we have a lot of trials, some people don't want to listen to us, we get dropped, we have to drop people, it's rough. But the lord has given us tools to succeed: the scriptures, conference talks, prayer, etc. one of my favorite phrases from that section was that "the wind blew them constantly to the promised land" (I'm not completely sure that was correct) the idea was right. I know that not everyone who reads this is a missionary but I know this story can be applied to any situation. And I am not very good at explaining but feel free to read it in Ether 6: 5-12 and apply it to your individual situations. I love the Book of Mormon so much. I know that it is true and I know that anyone who reads this book will find the answers that they are looking for.
Sorry the letter is so short, not much happened this week. I hope everyone has a great week! I love you all! Feel free to write me! :)
