Hello Family and Friends!
I feel so blessed to have this gospel in my life! Man oh man have I been able to see the lords hand in my life this week. To start off, I got a new companion, Hermana Klivans, who is from Santa Clarita, California and has been on her mission for just over a year. She is incredibly talented and witty so I think we will get along just fine!
Wednesday we had district meeting...oh boy. I had a slip up moment. Like my mom, I don't always have a filter on what comes out of my mouth...when our district leader said that it was a good district meeting, I said (a lot louder than I was expecting) "Because Hermana Santos isn't here!" The room got real quiet real fast. Luckily Hermana Francom said "that's really funny because I know how much she loves her!" Way to go Hermana Kunz...think!
Thursday was thanksgiving and we had dinner with the Ruge family. So cute and the food was soooooooo good! Their children are so cute and I love them. We also had a thanksgiving devotional with our mission president which was AMAZING! I love president Fenn. He is a truly inspired man. I learned a lot about being grateful and how much the Book of Mormon can help us have that attitude in our lives. Also, side note, the Book of Mormon is amazing! I encourage everyone to read it :) I also saw my mission momma at the fireside which was nice! I miss her but I know she is off helping people and teaching the gospel in a new area.
Friday we were on the way to find new people and we were walking on the sidewalk and we found Sotero and Juana, who we met last weekend and invited to the thanksgiving activity and didn't come. It was awesome because they asked for a bible and we talked about the Book of Mormon and gave them one. Awesome! We also had an amazing lesson with a man named Luis and his wife. The spirit was so strong. The spirit was definitely testifying to them. They were asking very inspired questions and we were inviting them to church when...they dropped us. They are taking lessons with Jehovah's Witnesses and are fine where they are. My heart was broken!
Saturday we were knocking and we shared a video called he is the gift. Watch it! It is awesome. Share it with your friends too. But back to the story, the lady who we showed the video to complemented my companion and I on our Spanish and said we spoke it very well. What? Hermana Kunz speaks Spanish well? Whoo hoo! We also set up a deal with Hermana Vega, a lady in our Ward. We will teach her English and she will teach us Spanish. Sounds like a fair trade to me.
We said goodbye to an investigator family, familia garcia on Sunday. I'm going to miss them so much! They are so amazing but Kansas is very lucky to gain these people.
That was pretty much our week! I've been learning so much from conference and the Book of Mormon, I can't even write all of it! But my favorite thing is at the beginning of 3 Nephi 23, when Christ basically tells us that the Isaiah chapters are important and I finally understood how involved our savior was in deciding what to put in the Book of Mormon. This book is not only inspired for our day but it comes from our savior. He directed this work as he directs the church today. It was very amazing to Learn that.
