Dear Family and Friends,
This week was awesome once again! We have been seeing miracle after miracle as well as some disappointments, but as we have seen both, we have seen our faith grow beyond measure. Well, I guess to start off the week, last Tuesday we went to the temple which threw off every one's schedule...it is already hard enough to try and remember what day it is. When you switch up pday, it's near impossible. The temple was amazing as usual and I love the feeling I get when I go. That feeling feels like I'm home, not overwhelming, not overpowering, but still. Perfectly still. I love it. So much. And then we tried to have as normal of a Pday as we could, we ate at steak and shake and went to the store, I bought a sweater and some socks, and then went to the library to send some pictures home. All in all, a good day.
Wednesday we had an awesome district meeting because we talked about eternal families and how we can teach that principle throughout the many lessons that we have, it was such a neat experience. There are so many references to life with our families in Heavenly Father's presence. We did some practices and role plays and they really helped me know what I could do to better help my own investigators. District meetings are my favorite! We also had a lesson with Rosio, the woman we found last Sunday and it was so amazing! She is starting to have more and more faith in Jesus Christ and it is so amazing to see her grow. We invited her to pray, she was hesitant to say the least but we bore testimony and really built her up. We waited for, I kid you not, a minute and a half in silence. It felt like a thousand minutes...but she finally prayed. The spirit was so strong and she started bawling. It was a great lesson. We invited her to be baptized and when she knows that this is true for herself she said she would be baptized.
Thursday we went to visit Hermana Sierra and once again, she was amazing. She has such a strong testimony and as she has been studying in preach my gospel, her testimony has grown even more. How powerful is preach my gospel?
Friday we went to go teach the Lugo kids, and we walked. 3.5 miles, which may not seem like a lot but in heeled boots, it sucks. And when you have thick thighs, you pull hamstrings quite easily...at least I do. No matter how much I stretch, I can never stretch enough. Anyway. It was a long walk. Long walk. But we made it there and we were able to read with the kids in Helaman 5 and apply it to their lives and talked about how they could build their foundation on Jesus Christ. They committed themselves to read in the Book of Mormon, pray, and come to church. They also had the Lego movie playing when I walked in...k suave
Saturday we were knocking before the thanksgiving party and one house we knocked at had the soccer game on in the background. Who ever Barcelona was playing got smoked...way bad. It was sad, but funny at the same time. Good thing I only saw the score! I had to stare at the poor mans face during the whole door approach so I didn't watch the game. It's okay, I'm a missionary, I'm creepy. As we were walking that day we found some people on the street who we talked to and invited to come to the dinner and they accepted! But they didn't come out of their house when a member showed up to give them a ride...almost. But the party was such a hit! Rosio and her sons came and it was awesome. I love Spanish branch parties. Music, food, dancing. Classic. We also got a new investigator at the party who came to church on Sunday! How awesome!
Sunday we also got a special phone call from president fenn. Transfer calls. I'll be staying in Bloomingdale! And Hermana Santos will be going to Arlington Heights to be an Hermana Training Leader! She will be going on exchanges with me and we will see each other at the winter activities this transfer so it's like we never left. And to make it better, my new companion will be my mission sister! Hermana Cleavens was trained by Hermana Santos back in the day and now she is going to be my senior companion. What makes me super super happy is that she makes some bomb rice crispy treats. Yum! We go on exchange companions tomorrow. Whelp, that's my week!
I've been learning a ton from the Book of Mormon and from general conference. I would definitely recommend reading and marking the talks and applying them to your lives! :) it's a blessing to have the talks to study!
I love you all! Thank you for all of the support and prayers! Until next week!
