Hello!
This week has been one of hard work and miracles. We had a very productive week and I feel like the more productive we are, the faster our time goes. I am not sure how I like that..there is so much more work to be done! Well, going backwards in time this week. Yesterday we went to Sterling for the very first time and went to all of the meetings and stayed for Ward Council. It was such an awesome experience. Everyone welcomed us and was so excited to have some sister missionaries. It was fantastic. To say the least. I can not describe how happy we were that day. To top it off we got a new investigator, Ramon, who is the father to some recent converts and had been taught by the missionaries in English, now that we are Spanish missionaries maybe he will start to progress. We also got a few referrals and had an amazing finding lesson with Bishop Gunderson and his family as well as Familia Aguilar. The Zone Leaders were there with us at the lesson, because Sterling is their area, and they called us last night to tell us the number of an investigator but they also said that our finding lesson was amazing! (Don't worry, keepin it humble over here!) Sterling is the land of miracles as well as Rochelle, there are too many to even believe!
After much confusion on Thursday and Friday, we finally had our exchanges with the Hermana Training Leaders. We both assumed things. And since I am a missionary I cannot say the phrase that Dad always tells me...but we proved that to be true. We thought that since exchanges were on a day that we had zone conference that they would meet us at the building where we would be. Normally the HTL's are there to do trainings anyway. Simple. And then we had a lesson the following day at the time they wanted to switch back and so we asked them to move the switch back time back to 7. Well, they thought that we meant to switch everything to 7 and to top it all off, they didn't even come to the zone conference... But we eventually got to exhchange. And there we saw even more miracles. We had been praying for us to receive some new referrals and investigators and we got them! We found Alejandro and Jose both of which are new investigators and we are so excited to start working with them. Jose also gave us a referral as we taught him on his doorstep. I am pretty content with him if I say so myself. We also had a goal this week to have our members invite someone to church this Sunday and they all agreed to do it! There wasn't anyone at church but they all did it and so we are super proud of them anyway. We know that the miracle can only come after the invitation.
Thursday was also the first day that I have ever been late to a meeting...ever. And I hate that feeling and probably will never do it again. And by probably I mean I won't. We were 15 minutes late because we went to the wrong building but all was well because we made it in time for our Zone Accountability Meeting and so we didn't miss much. I got called on to call the prayer and so after the training by the Tech Elders I walked up like I was supposed to and then the Zone Leader switched the schedule on me so I had a walk of shame back to my chair. It was all good because I eventually said the prayer, blessed the food, and shoved my face full of it. I also had an interview with president fenn and it was much needed. I got some answers to the questions that were bugging me the most and so that is really great.
Wednesday we did planning and we decided this week that we are going to do thirty minute lessons so that we can see more people in a day. We have a lot of PNI's that we want to clean out of our AreaBook and a lot of less active members to go and visit. So we have high hopes for that.
After that, I can't remember much...must not have been too important. So, skipping to what I learned this week. I learned that the Lord is going to let us struggle to help us grow. This week, with all the miracles, was very difficult. I felt stressed out and like my world was ending, but all of that led me to pray. And because of those many prayers, I was able to receive the help that I need and the strength to overcome temptation and trial. It was beautiful. If any of you are struggling with trials, turn to the Lord. He cannot give you more than you can handle. There is a promise in the bible that says I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me. I know that is true and I know that this church is the only church with the restored priesthood power of God, by which we can be sealed to our families for all of time and eternity. I love you all and I hope you have a great week!
